Quick and easy!
Quick call on a Friday evening and everything was sorted for me then and there! Budget Direct connected me to the relevant services quickly and the process was smooth as could be... for a company FAR cheaper than anyone else I was a happy customer.

Misleading and wont renew
Was happy with Budget until we needed to claim - staff member did not advise us correctly and it cost us money - very unhappy and will not renew our 3 policies when they are due

Procedures that are very confusing
Recently my car was in a bad hail storm (Dec 2018)and was so badly damaged it was not worth Auto and General repairing . I was given the option to buy it back at the salvage price which I did. Auto and General paid me out on the car and then issued a letter saying it was a statutory write off and my plates were to be handed in and the car to be de registered. This is so not what was discussed or supposed to happen. The assessor who wrote my car off told me to take a letter to the RMA. When I got there the girl advised me not to hand the form in as my car then would go on the statutory write off register and I could not insure it at all. In the mean time i had re registered it and re insured it 3rd party with Auto and General again. Sooooo I rang Auto and General and told them not to go ahead with the statutory write off as per my letter from their claims dept. They said dont worry about the letter its just a procedure we have to do. How confusing for me as the customer getting a letter that does not match up with the actual procedure. I am lucky as i have worked in the insurance area and understand basics but alot of people dont and if this had gone ahead and my car was on the statutory write off list the repercussions from that are massive and not in any way worth the exercise I just did of buying my own car back. Check everything - at the end of the day I was told so many different policies and procedures that were incorrect.

First claim in many years
Budget Direct is a disgrace. My first claim, as a result, of a learner driver damaging property, was met with the comment that "you are no longer considered a rating one driver and your premium will be increased next year".

Happy result from an unhappy situation.
I was unfortunate to have our vehicle damaged by hail in the 20th December major storm.
Budget Direct were a pleasure to deal with, organising for the vehicle to be assessed and then following through
till the completion of the claim process.
