Frustrating
The entire process was frustrating and stressful. The claim seem to go on for ages. I run a business with 20 vehicles insured with NRMA AAMI and BUDGET. The business has been in operation for 27 years and Budget is the only insurance provider that has been difficult to deal with.

Simple Claims process
I claimed with Budget Direct after reversing into a parked car. No judgment or negative comments passed. I felt awful when the incident happened and budget direct put me at ease.

Unprofessional Repairer
Repairer took the promising two weeks repair time, but lingered to three weeks after pushing hard to finish the job. It was like, I am at their mercy, they will do whenever they can. After I got my car back, found the rubber on the dash board at the front passenger side cut in quite a few places and dust impregnated in the rubber in a few places, not cleaned up. This repairer should be unlisted from Budget Direct database.

Bad experience
Still waiting for the car to be repaired after 5 weeks of not having our car and still not repaired correctly and is unsafe to drive.
We also gave the repairers 2 car keys to only get back 1. And then being told that we only gave 1 key to the repairers and tow truck guy, the assessor made out i was lying about the key due to the tow truck and repairers saying they only had one.....
But conveniently they found the 2nd one when the car went back to be repaired the 2nd time...
And we now have the car back from the 2nd repair but still not repaired and unsafe to drive still going through the process of getting our car fixed 5 weeks later.

My car is still awaiting the final part from my repairs 1 month later. No communication from them at all, budget direct need to keep an eye on who they endorse

Help when help is needed

Cancelling my policies stat
My first ever time claiming, and it was hideous. I was eventually found not at fault, 7 or so weeks after the initial claim. BD seemed to want to just claim dual at fault as their assessors were to incompetent to make a decision either way. All contacts (bar contacts from the finance department requesting the excess be made despite me not being found at fault at that time) had to be initiated by myself. My witness wasn’t contacted for a month after the incident. After I threatened to take my claim further (ombudsman), my claim was magically put through not at fault ‘by discretion’. Ridiculous experience, cancelling my home and car insurance in the new year.

Delivered what was promised

Not completely easy. Though when I lodged a claim online, I had put in all the information but later in the claim found that some information(3rd party) were missing and hence had to give a call and make sure it was updated accordingly.
