Very satisfied Customer
Budget Direct saved us about $900 compared to our previous insurance companies and I wondered if the saving might be reflected in the service when it came to make a claim. BUT absolutely not. In our case our claim was handled extremely professionally, quickly and we are very satisfied with the result.

Great customer service!
After feeling devastated at my whole house being robbed not long after moving in I have to admit that the budget direct team and my claims manager Melinda were extremely helpful and understanding. It was an awful experience being robbed but one that would have been much worse had I not been covered by Budget Direct.
I would definitely recommend them for any home and contents insurance policy you are considering.

Atrocious feedback on claim progress
Lodged a claim and provided all the info. Budget wanted more. Got it. This went on 3 times - no problems if it means claim will progress. Not once in over a month did Budget contact me to advise of the claim progress even though they said they would and when every time I contacted them I found that the decision / progress had been made days beforehand. This meant that it took over a month to progress the claim. It related to replacing an AC for a rental property and in a period where temps were often in high 30's. Budget said they would 'mark as urgent' and gave numerous commitments to 'get back to you as soon as possible' - not one time did they contact me and I was endlessly chasing them. This resulted in Tenancy Tribunal action by the tenants.

Claims process made easy
Jeanine was great in helping me make a retrospective claim for items I didn’t even know for sure I was covered for. Was able to get new for old replacements in electrical items damaged in the storm. Very happy with the whole process.

It was a huge relief when Budget Direct helped us throughout our recent claim.As seniors it was devastating to see our items destroyed in a lightening strike .We would have found it difficult to replace them without Budget Direct's help. Its true what they say YOU NEVER KNOW IF AN INSURANCE COMPANYS IS ANY GOOD UNTIL YOU NEED THEM, How true.

My claim (replacing a computer, printer and external hard drive used for my freelance editing business) was processed (despite a few hiccups) remarkably promptly - claim and tech report submitted late Thursday afternoon, several phone calls made on Friday trying to establish where and why four emails had disappeared but by close of business that afternoon after long phone calls with Tina (thank you so much, Tina!) the claim had been approved, my orders for equivalent replacements placed and they will be delivered here (regional NSW, hours away from any major centre) on Monday. Now to buy a better quality surge protector ...
This was a remarkably positive experience - especially as I was highly anxious about it with the work piling up and it was the first claim I had made in 35 years.

Easy, fast claim process!
Our shed blew down in the storm recently, so we called Budget to see what we could do?! We lodged the claim, & within 36 hours we had a builder at our house assessing the damage and within the next 48 hours we had a quote for replacement & install! Such fast efficient service, no real effort needed from us. Exactly what you want when you have an unexpected problem with your home

Straightforward claims process

Broken glass Pool fence
My 4 year old boy ran into our glass pool fence and it smashed. Submitted an accidental glass breakage claim, easy. 6 weeks later my pool fence is still broken.
Insurer stuffed up by requesting their own builder to quote on the job. The builder underquoted because they don't do pool fences then subcontracted the work out to a professional pool repairer. Despite my warning to Budget Direct that this was going to happen, they proceeded with their builder instead of a professional pool fence company.
Yesterday I found out that Budget Direct is now paying me in cash and I have to ring around and organise the repairs myself.
In the 6 weeks I was waiting for the fence to be repaired I think Budget Direct called me twice with updates. I must have called them 10 times.
Horrendous.

From the very first call, to the very last call they customer service has been faultless. They were warm, kind and accommodating, even when we had to change carpet suppliers, would highly recommend

Positive Claim Process
From the time I contacted Budget Direct lodge a claim, I was assigned a case worker who kept me imformed on process and when contractors and assessor would be in contact, which happened seamlessly.
The repairs were prompt and to a high standard by Budget Direct's contractor.
The signoff process was very efficient.
Overall, all contact with Budget Direst, the assessor, and contractor on this claim was a positive experience. would have no issue recommending Budget Direct in the future for insurance needs.

CLAIMS PROCESS MADE EASY
TRYING TO RING BUDGET DIRECT IS A NIGHTMARE! TAKES WAY TO LONG TO GET THROUGH. WE FOUND THAT THE COMMUNICATION FOR THE CLAIM WAS GOOD EXCEPT FOR WHEN WE COULDN'T SPEAK TO THE SAME PERSON TWICE REGARDING OUR CLAIM AND DECISIONS HAD TO CONTINUALLY GO TO ANOTHER DEPARTMENT FOR DISCUSSION. ON THE WHOLE THE PROCESS WAS VERY GOOD.
