Claiming was so easy
This is only the second time in 30 years I have made a claim on my insurance and I wasn't looking forward to it. However, I need not have worried as Jonathan was very helpful and made the process quick and painless. It was me who caused a delay in the process but Jonathan called every week to see how things were going. He was always very patient and pleasant.

Dreadful
I was given incorrect information and advice regarding a claim and then days later I had to chase the claim progress and the customer service officer was rude and told me lies to cover her mistakes and the claim was declined due to her incompetency! A waste of time and effort and I'll be cancelling my 3 policies and foibg elsewhere.

Quick and easy claim process
This is only the second time ever we have lodged a claim. Our last one was with another insurer and the experience was terrible. This time we were so impressed with how quickly our claim was to lodge with excellent follow up. We would recommend Budget Direct.

Simple and fast claim process
I couldn’t believe how simple the process of submitting a claim online was (something I had put off doing). Once the simple online process was completed I was contacted by Budget Direct (Janelle) the next day to confirm a few more details. The following day Janelle phoned again to let me know my claim was completed and the payment would be deposited directly into my account. The entire claim was submitted and paid out within 48 hours !!

Very smooth

Uncomplicated and stress-free experience!
I was dreading lodging a claim following the partial flooding of our home due to an accidental overflow of water. I envisioned we would be required to undergo a protracted 'hoop-jumping' exercise and fill out nit-picking forms. What a pleasant surprise it was when my email, in which I set out in detail the circumstances of the event, was accepted as the basis of our claim! A builder was appointed to come and assess the damage within a very reasonable period of time, and from then on it was a completely hassle-free process, due to the very professional, courteous and understanding claims team who kept us informed on a regular basis throughout the whole process. Once the scope of work had been assessed and quotes obtained by the claims team, a builder was appointed and work proceeded very soon thereafter. Temporary removal and storage of our furniture plus alternative accommodation for the duration of the remedial work were also provided by Budget Direct under our claim. No quibbling and no hassles. Brilliant!

Smooth claims process
The consultant was sympathetic to my loss and kept me informed, making my experience much less stressful . As an older customer with hearing difficulties it is better for me to deal with a consultant who has English as a first language rather than an overseas call centre where English is not the consultants first language. It is very stressful saying "Can you repeat that please" or "I'm sorry I can't understand you", and it is for this reason I am staying with Budget Direct.

Looked good to start, but...
In July I had damage to a rental property caused by a water pipe in the laundry ceiling burst from severe frost.
A restorer was quickly on the job to commence drying out the structure. However it was the end of August that this was completed. I was informed that Auto & General would cover the estimated cost of repairs following the restoration, but it was up to me to organise this to be done because A&G would just pay me out. This left me with the problem of finding someone to do the work and most were booked up until after Christmas.
I have subsequently had another landlord insurance policy with Budget Direct come up for renewal and the price has increased by nearly 70% and I was told that this was because I had made this claim. Why should a claim for something out of my control on one property cause the premium on another property be affected in this way?
