Phone staff very approachable

Very customer focussed
I'd just like to thank BudgetDirect for the repairs to my property following a tree deciding to move in. The consultants handling the case were always very helpful which made a traumatic experience a lot less traumatic.

Disappointing claim response
I am disappointed with the claims process. Whilst the contacts with budget direct staff were handled politely, we were shocked to find they charged us $1,000 up front just to process out claim!! This was supposed to cover an engineer inspection and report. In our experience an inspection and report should only have cost less than 1/2 of that. (as if i haven't paid enough for many years insuring with Budget without making a claim) not to mention that the engineer was appointed by Budget, with a clear agenda, to discredit the claim. Commenting that on that evening nearly 200mm of rain fell but it only effected the retaining wall because the house was not maintained enough. Thats a huge amount of rain. In fact it was enough to push out neighbors retaining wall down also. This was clearly not an independent assessor but we still had to pay for it! We do not consider this a fair process. We have been offered nothing. We will be reconsidering all our Policies with Budget.

Easy, helpful, step by step with amazing follow up
As this was the very first time I have ever had to put in a claim, I just didnt know the process. The staff at Budget Direct made me feel comfortable, stepped me through everything, were easy to understand and followed up multiple times until everything was done. Great communication throughout the process.
We could not have asked for better communication and outcome with regards to our claim for Household contents and Structural damage, after a break in while away. All was handled quickly and the building work was well done.
Budget made contact with us each week to see how things were progressing and if we needed help with anything. The Builders were the same. AAA

100% Experience
From the start to the end of claim nothing was too hard. Amazing service, never thought an Insurance Company could be this good. This was our very first claim as they say you never know how good they are till you have to make a claim. Had only been with Budget for a short time and unfortunatley we had a leak in our upstairs toiet which caused the roof in our garage to collapse. Within 2 weeks repair was complete, and what a job, perfect. Everyone involved in this claim was fantastic, highly recommend Budget for all your insurance needs. Thanks Budget
