Claiming on an investment property
Recently I was horrified to find water damage when replaceing the carpet in a rental property.
I have never claimed before believing that it was not worth the stress of doing so.
I rang Budget and they sent an assessor around who pointed out all the repairs that fell under the mantle of Budget.
He provided names of tradies and suggested a cash settlement so I could get things moving quicker.
His advice was fantastic and a happy solution was reached in 3 weeks an amazing achievement in a regional town.

Helpful and a seamless claims process
From the time I called Budget Direct to settlement, I was impressed with the level of communication and service experienced during the claims process. I began the process with a negative attitude, believing the role of an insurance company was to determine how NOT to pay out on the claim. In my case, we had a fence that collapsed during a storm and I was convinced the insurers would only cover the damaged panels. How wrong I was! I was pleasantly surprised when Budget Direct agreed to cover the replacement of an entire new fence such was the damage incurred to the weakened footings. I was suitably impressed.

Blown Away by Positive Experience
We've never had a need to make a claim on our house insurance before and I think we expected to be treated with suspicion and resistance. Couldn't have been more wrong - this was not an inexpensive claim caused by a leaking pipe and it was handled in an efficient and supportive way throughout the entire process. They did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it - which is rare these days!!
The company engaged by Budget to carry out the repairs were also very professional and competent and gave us a lot of confidence. Highly recommend Budget House and Contents insurance.

Excellent Customer Service
My laptop was destroyed and I was told it was not covered despite having it listed as a specified item on our home and contents policy when I purchased it online. Turns out the online purchase system was a mismatch with the actual policy details. After a simple referral to the Financial Services Ombudsman explaining that I was allowed to purchase cover for it but Budget refused to payout Budget Direct admitted and apologised for their mistake and agreed to replace it. It was replaced with a complete new laptop even though the new price was several hundred dollars over the price of the original. I am very happy with the outcome.

Beware the payout - if you get one at all!
Fair premiums for a very poor product! Landlord insurance is very poor. We had no tenant for 12 weeks following a tenant default and received about 12% of our total loss! Other companies (we now know following agent recommendation) will reimburse TOTAL loss! Please check what you get if you need to claim. No payment for first 4 weeks, then a 4 week rent excess, then a $500 basic excess. If bond goes to rent, they’ll take that, too. We’re now with another company. Don’t make the mistake we did. Look elsewhere!!

When I called to report the damage, I did not wait long for friendly staff to tell me. She explained everything to me. everything was done in a very short time
I did not know when I was calling for some information or seeking help from other companies.

Awesome claims process
I have never come across such a wonderful bunch of people that made this claim flow so smoothly. Always kept up to date with work being carried out and each time I was asked if there was anything I was not happy with.
The work was perfect and Budget Direct went above and beyond to complete the repairs on my Mothers home. They were very understanding in all aspects of the claim.

Smooth claims process!
Very easy to deal with. My kid smashed our tv and the whole process from start to approval was easy. They sent out someone to collect our broken tv for assessment and then once our claim was approved they replaced it for “like for like” Great communication throughout.

WOW, DIDN'T EXPECT IT TO BE THIS EASY!!!!!
We have been with Budget for a couple years now and it was defiantly the cheapest option for the amount of cover we wanted. We signed up online and managed our policy from their online account which was super easy. When the unfortunate occurrence of being burgled happened, I questioned whether we would be paid out due to some of the reviews but I remained ever hopeful being a first time claimer.
Rachael was the most caring insurance rep I have ever spoken to, she was compassionate, understanding and eased my fragile state after loosing all of my family heirlooms. The claim process went without a hitch and was underway in the blink of an eye, everything was paid out and before we knew it we were easing the heartache with some retail therapy. Rachael even made follow up calls to ask if there was anything she could help with to speed up the claim process, which I thought was unheard of in the insurance world.

Thank you Budget Direct for the smooth claim process, we'll be sure to recommend you to all our friends and family. My only other recommendation to people looking at insurance is make a list of all of your items and add to it as you go (including price, purchased from, date and attach this with a photo and (photocopied) receipt) and keep it all in the one place, it will make your life a lot easier if you ever have to make a claim.

Smooth Claims Process
Our recent claims experience was very positive from start to finish. The claims process was explained in detail and communication throughout was very good as was the follow up processes. Linking us with the organisations contracted to investigate and complete the repairs was invaluable as the property is tenanted and allowed for good timely communication for ease of access to undertake the repairs.

claim handled well
I phoned Budget after heavy rain shorted our electricity. they were very prompt in sending someone out to ensure the [power was put back on. Further tradesmen were sent out to try to fix the problem.
Even though the claim was rejected due to some poor workmanship (no fault of budget) the staff were very quick to respond and explained every step clearly. The final paperwork clearly explained the problem

Smooth claims process
Our house was flooded upstairs in the middle of the night by a burst flexi hose in our main bathroom and from the moment we called Budget Direct (at 3am in the morning I might add) they were amazing. From that very 1st call, right through all the processes of our claim all the staff we dealt with were wonderful. They were very informative, as helpful as they could be, and followed up with us at every stage to make sure we were happy with how things were going, and with the work being done. We simply cannot praise all of the staff at Budget Direct enough for how wonderful they were during the whole process of our claim.

The team at Budget Direct were very helpful in advising my household cover extended beyond the four walls I live in.
